The pros: Trader Joe’s Reserve Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup is a quality maple syrup.
The cons: Expensive for what you are getting. This 8 ounce bottle was $9.99 which translates to only 4 servings in a bottle. I wanted to open the bottle and smell bourbon, or at least maple syrup (ok, I really wanted bourbon, what a way to start your day) but it had no smell to it.
The verdict: I was expecting more. If you’ve never had real maple syrup, yes this is awesome. Yes, I’m talking to you, you Aunt Jemima using folks. However, if you like quality maple syrup any Grade B (yes, this isn’t school, sometimes Bs are better than As) is cheaper and has a greater depth of flavor.
The nutritional information:
If you really want good maple syrup, Grade B is hard to find. I found it on Amazon.com and there is no going back. This was good, but I’m not sure I’ll be repurchasing once I finish this bottle.
My recommendation? Hidden Springs Organic Maple Syrup Grade B (This post contains affiliate links, which means I receive 4% if you make a purchase using this link. It helps support this blog and making awesome articles like this) Twice the size, four dollars more and ships for free if you have Amazon Prime.
