The pros: Trader Joe’s Mini Chicken Tikka Samosas are generously filled with tasty chicken tikka masala filling. It will remind you of a finely shredded Trader Joe’s Chicken Tikka Masala with mashed potatoes. It is does not contain as much sauce as that would ruin the crispy won ton like pastry wrap. Medium in heat this might catch some off guard who don’t read the package carefully.
The cons: This is a medium heat product so be warned. No microwave allowed on this one.
The verdict: For $3.99, these are a great choice if you’ve had other items from Trader Joe’s Indian line of frozen food. This is very similar in taste to their other tikka masala dishes without the vast quantities of sauce to coat the rice that comes with those dishes. The pasty was crispy right out of the toaster oven. If you haven’t tried their Indian dishes yet, you are missing out. While the smell might be off putting to some, if you give it a taste your mind and palate will be open to a great number of dishes you might have been missing out on. Trader Joe’s Fish Korma Curry, Trader Joe’s Vegan Tikka Masala, Trader Joe’s Chicken Tikka Masala, and Trader Joe’s Paneer Tikka Masala have become regular weekly items I pick up for lunch.

Would I buy this again? Yes, absolutely. I literally sat down and ate the whole box of Trader Joe’s Mini Chicken Tikka Samosas for dinner. The heat on these will slow you down a bit if you aren’t used to eating spicy items. Otherwise these are bite sized, tasty, and filling. Great appetizer to serve to adventurous guests at a get together. While this might not make my weekly shopping list, I’m absolutely willing to buy this product again.
