The pros: Trader Joe’s Peanut Butter and Oat Bars are tasty. The frosting adds a nice peanut butter sweetness to it.
The cons: If you are looking for a bar with a smooth texture, Trader Joe’s Peanut Butter and Oat Bars isn’t it.
The verdict: For $2.49, you get a box full of 6 bars. The bars are a decent size. They are not like the “This (Fruit name) Walks Into a Bar” series. These are bars with lots of texture in them. There are two flavors in this line: chocolate and this, the peanut butter. Both are good and solid choices. They are filling and just a little bit sweet. You get lots of texture from the rolled oats. It’s like eating a rectangular oatmeal cookie with just a touch of frosting on the top. There are plenty of peanut butter chips to add a bit more peanut butter and sweetness. The oats add a good amount of fiber to help fill you up without making you feel like this is a nutritional waste. Both flavors are good so as long as you don’t mind a snack bar with lots of texture. I’d repurchase both the Trader Joe’s Peanut Butter and Oat Bars and Trader Joe’s Chocolate Chip Brownie and Oat Bar flavors.

Would I buy this again? Yes. I liked both the chocolate and peanut butter flavors. They have a lot of texture to them and are just sweet enough. At 130 calories each they are a (mostly) nutritionally responsible treat.
