The pros: Trader Joe’s Tandoori Naan is quick and tasty bread straight from the freezer.
The cons: It’s plain, but odds are you aren’t eating this by itself.
The verdict: For $1.99 you get four plain naans. The naans are plain and can easily be enhanced with some oil, sauce or gravy (or curry). These are truly a blank canvas. I’ve even made Naan Pizza’s out of these. While they didn’t cut into perfectly even slices, they were still tasty. My oven is electric and slow as anything to preheat, so I cheat and put these in the microwave covered in a paper towel for about 30 seconds at a time until they are warmed through. After leaving the microwave what you are left with is fresh bread. There are little air pockets from when it was cooked in India. Served plain or with some thing, nothing beats the taste of fresh bread. Since you are just reheating this, it’s as close as you can get to fresh coming from the frozen aisle. I’d buy this and Trader Joe’s Garlic Naan again. Which should you pick? Plain is good, but just realize that the garlic does contain cilantro which can be a hit or miss depending on your taste buds. This is an item worth keeping in your freezer.

Would I buy this again? Yes, both Trader Joe’s Tandoori Naan and Garlic Naan are good. It’s going to depend on whether you want plain or garlic and cilantro on yours.
